Engine Build Technician
For over 75 years our client has been working with the makers of powered industrial equipment to design, deliver and support diesel engines and power solutions with the highest levels of performance and reliability.
They currently have a requirement for an Engine Build Technician.
Location: Peterborough
Job Description:
Working within a multi-skilled team, the successful candidate will hold the following responsibilities:
- Assist and support Product Engineers and managers in the delivery of product programmes.
- Completing measurement, build, strip and layout of new and current products.
- Undertake complex measurement of both components and systems.
- Assist in the investigation and resolution of technical issues.
- Improve product quality through active reporting and resolution of concerns.
- Assist in the complex technical investigation of both current and future products and components.
Please note- candidates MUST be able to work 24/7 shifts. This includes 7am-7pm shifts, days and nights.
Shift allowance is 1.35 and 1.5 overtime; 4 nights on-2 days off, 3 days on- 2 days off, 3 nights on- 2 days off, 4 days on, 8 days off.
Key Skills/Qualifications:
- City and Guilds or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Motor Vehicle Mechanics.
- A time served apprenticeship in Motor Mechanics.
- Previous engine build and measuring experience, within the automotive industry.
- Mechanical/electrical experience on diesel engines, with a good understanding of engine fundamentals.
Salary: £15.00 per hour LTD
Duration: 6 month contract
