Quality and Supply Chain Engineer

Job Description

Our Client is looking for a Quality and Supply Chain Engineer who will be responsible for a number of equipment suppliers to ensure quality, manufacturing and supply chain issues are investigated, analysed and solved. Deploying manufacturing and quality tools to continuously improve the supply chain.
To support this key role within procurement successful candidates will be required to demonstrate experience in the following:
• Various manufacturing processes including surface treatments, electrical and mechanical assembly techniques, machining and fabrication
• Quality system requirements including EN9100, ISO 9000 and JAR 21
• Awareness of manufacturing system elements including MRP / MRP II
• Auditing (Quality Management Systems, Product, Process)
• Knowledge of Industrial Engineering and/or Design Engineering
• Appreciation of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma philosophies and techniques
• Good understanding of Concurrent Engineering
• Good problem solving skills
• Project management
• Presentation and written communication using PC based software

Applicants will have a strong technical background gained in either a manufacturing and/or design engineering or quality assurance role demonstrated by past deployment of the above experience. This will be backed up by academic studies to at least HNC/HND level or experience to an equivalent depth and /or breadth.
Successful candidates must also demonstrate Airbus UK behavioural competencies at the professional level. A strong personal drive is required to bring to this challenging role combined with a mature professional approach in dealing with the team•s customers, suppliers and the procurement business. Travel within the UK and overseas will be required.
