Coxswain

We have an immediate, initial 6 month Contract vacancy for a Coxswain
Responsibilities include monitoring, operating and controlling Marine Passenger & Work Boats in accordance with the HP Marine Operations Manual and Safety Management System.

Key Areas of Responsibility are:
Familiarity with the requirements of a Boatmaster•s licence.
To exercise all duties and authority to ensure that the vessel under command is maintained to high professional, safe, clean and hygienic standards and kept in a constant state of operational readiness
To take charge of all emergency exercises on the vessel.
Assuming responsibility for ensuring that all routine checks are undertaken onboard the vessel prior to proceeding to sea, with special regard to:
Fuel status
Engine checks in accordance with vessel handbook
Bilge soundings
Status of bridge equipment
Life saving equipment
To supervise loading and unloading operations with particular regard to:
Passengers, Deck cargo (ensuring safety data sheets, risk assessment, weight and types of cargo information is available).
Possess a valid Boatmaster License Class 2
